Swim Lessons FAQ

What will be the session offerings for swim lessons for 2022 Summer?

There will be 3 sessions offered for swim lessons this summer:

  • Session 1: June 20th- July 1

  • No lessons week of July 4th

  • Session 2: July 11th – July 22nd

  • Session 3: July 25th – August 5th

At this time these sessions are tentative and are subject to change throughout the summer.

What time and days will sessions be offered?

In order to maximize staffing, we are offering sessions this year in 3 time slots Monday through Thursday. New this year, we will not have class on Fridays. Times are as follows:

  • 10:10am – 10:40am

  • 10:45am – 11: 15am

  • 11:20am – 11:50am

How do I sign up?

Registration is through MemberHub and the link to sign up will be emailed to members prior to sessions starting.

How much do lessons cost?

Lessons are $50 per two week session

Why did the cost decrease by so much from last year?

The cost decrease was decided on by the NSC Board for the following reasons:

1) No classes on Fridays
2) Larger class sizes due to less COVID restrictions
3) Class time is reduced from 35 minutes to 30 minutes in order to accommodate 3 time slots daily

How do I know which level to sign my child up for?

NSC uses the Red Cross Swim Lessons levels which can be found on our website. If your child can perform half of the skills for any given level that is the appropriate level. If on the first day of class its determined your child is not in the appropriate level, every effort will be made to accommodate changes after the first day.

What if I sign up my child and determine I can no longer attend lessons?

No refunds will be given for lessons; instead, we can offer a credit for future sessions.

How can I sign my child up for private lessons?

Private lessons are arranged directly through designated instructors. Please see the list at the front desk for eligible instructors and pricing. Private instruction will be limited this year. Only instructors also participating in the club’s organized class sessions will be available to teach private lessons at the club.
